Zombie Burger plans collaboration burger with Jim Gaffigan

In the interviews for my upcoming profile on Zombie Burger and Drink Lab chef Tom McKern, he expounded on plans to collaborate on a burger special in honor of comedian Jim Gaffigan’s March 19 performance in Des Moines.

Here’s a preview from the profile from DesMoinesRegister.com:

Jim Gaffigan, a comedian whose most well-known bit jokes about Hot Pockets, visited the restaurant in 2012. Afterward, McKern reached out to Gaffigan and asked for his help making an “Undead Gaffigan” burger to commemorate the comedian’s March stop in Des Moines. Gaffigan recommended a five-patty cheeseburger, which McKern found “tame.”

“I want to go more extreme,” McKern said. “There’s probably going to be a fried Hot Pocket in there somewhere.”
