Urbandale IHOP will give year’s worth of pancakes to record eater

Want to win a year’s worth of pancakes from the IHOP in Urbandale? Start eating.

The pancake chain is again offering their “All You Can Eat Pancakes,” this time with a competitive twist.

Now through Jan. 26, guests ordering the all-you-can-eat option will be entered into an old-timey pancake eatin’ contest. Those who gulp down the most buttermilk cakes will get a spot on the restaurant’s leader board, which will update daily.

The top eater by the 26th will receive bragging rights and the true glory: a weekly free stack of IHOP pancakes for the year.

There’s more: The top ten pancake eaters from the Des Moines area will compete in “The Pancake Bowl” on Feb. 1, with the winner receiving a $500 IHOP giftcard, an IHOP press release states.

That’s half a grand redeemable  in pancakes, omelettes or even something IHOP’s online menu informs me is called a  Rooty Tooty Fresh N’ Fruity™.

Urbandale’s IHOP location is at 6301 Douglas Ave.
