Tattoo bodyscapes: Jayla Clark, 23
Amount of work done: 30-40 hours.
First tattoo: Ralph Steadman bats on her chest.
Her day job: Clark is a preschool teacher. “I cover my tattoos up at work. I can’t really show them. But people who have seen them outside of work have brought it up with me.”
A love of movies: “I’m a ‘Star Wars’ fan (she has several Star Wars tattoos). I love them all. It’s something I grew up with. I’m a movie buff in general.”
Why she gets tattoos: “Each piece makes me feel more like who I am, more comfortable in my skin. They make me feel better, I guess. It’s therapeutic, it really is.”
Tattoo goal: “I plan on being covered. They’re all there, they’re just not on my skin yet.”
Next tattoo: “I want to finish my leg sleeves. I have a dark and a light side.”
