  • Here Come the Mummies: Rock like an Egyptian as Here Come the Mummies headline the Halloween party at Prairie Meadows, 1 Prairie Meadows Drive, Altoona, at 8 p.m. The band dresses as mummies when they perform their high-voltage funk, disguising their identity from the world due to an ancient curse/contractual reasons. The party has a costume contest with a $1,000 prize. $25 through Ticketmaster.
  • A New York minute: Grammy-winning vocal group New York Voices performs at 7:30 p.m. at Drake University’s Sheslow Auditorium, 2507 University Ave. 7:30 p.m. $20-$48.
  • Final Downtown Farmers Market: All good things must come to an end, at least for the season. The final Downtown Farmers Market of the year will be held 8 a.m.-noon in the Court District downtown. Scheduled entertainers include B. John Burns, DesNamix, Mikiel Williams and others, and members of the Iowa Wild will be on hand.
