New foods announced at the 2014 Iowa State Fair

RELATEDYUM! 21 photos of our favorite past State Fair foods

Sure, people say they go to the Iowa State Fair for the music, exhibits and big boars, but food is probably the biggest draw. Here’s a look at some of the new items you’ll be able to try this year.

Don’t worry, some of them are available on sticks. The following are all $3 and guests will be able to vote for their favorites during the fair.

The Brownie Blitz, cream cheese, brownie bits, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and coconut. Available at Bauders Ice Cream on the southwest side of the Agriculture Building.

Caprese salad on a stick, a skewer of cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. Available at all Salad Bowl locations.

Smoked brisket and bacon mac N cheese, topped with chunks of smoked brisket and apple wood smoked bacon and tossed in a three cheese sauce. Available at The Rib Shack.

The Three Buck Bowl, two crispy potato skins filled with scrambled eggs, fresh salsa and shredded cheddar cheese. Available at Steer N Stein on the Grand Concourse.

Funnel cake sticks, made with vanilla, chocolate or strawberry funnel cake batter, served on a stick and topped with icing. Available at Arnold’s Concessions on Rock Island Ave.

Other $3 options include Zombie Cones (sour cherry, blueberry, grape, orange, lime or bubble gum flavors and topped with a gummy eyeball or sour worm), jumbo toasted marshmallows on a stick available in vanilla bean, caramel, chocolate or maple bacon varieties and a red velvet flurry ice cream treat.

Here are other new foods for this year:

Pineapple Inside Out Funnel Cake

Chocolate Covered Bacon Nougat On a stick
Chocolate Covered Cookies N Cream On a stick
Mexican Grilled Corn On the cob
