Moon Hop filling the Pressure Drop void at Beechwood Lounge

Published on November 27th, 2013 | by Joe Lawler

While Jeffrey Eaton has been performing with his band Modern Life is War, there’s been a sharp decline in DJ Eight Ten gigs around town. Eaton will have two December shows in Des Moines, but his monthly Pressure Drop at Beechwood Lounge is on hiatus.

So what’s a vinyl-lover to do? Check out Moon Hop, which will be held the last Saturday of each month at Beechwood until DJ Eight Ten is spinning regularly again. Jewell City Sounds and 3 Bridges are behind the vinyl-dance party focusing on ska, reggae and soul. This weekend the event will also feature live music by Dropsteppers and New Riddim.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
