Main Gig: Marketing and Communications Associate, Kuder, Inc., girls basketball coach, Kingdom Hoops
Hometown: Urbandale
Date Experience: Dinner at Bonefish Grill followed by a show at the Funny Bone.
Q: What’s your spirit animal? A panther because I’m a UNI (University of Northern Iowa) graduate and my brother plays basketball for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee — both have a panther as their mascot.
Q: What are you listening to right now? I listen to different music depending on the season. Right now, it’s country — mainly Florida Georgia Line and Scotty McCreery.
Q: Why did you want to participate in the Des Moines Sweethearts Charity Date Auction? Besides it being a fun and unique event, working with and helping children is a passion of mine. My role as a girls’ basketball coach at Kingdom Hoops, an AAU program based in Ankeny, really allows me to connect with youth on an individual basis and make a positive impact in their lives — both as a coach and a mentor. It’s honestly the best job in the world!
Q: What’s your worst habit? Stopping at Caribou every morning for a white berry mocha.
Q: You’re home alone for dinner, what do you eat? PASTA! I could eat it for every meal, every day.

Main Gig: Naturalist for the Madison County Conservation Board in Winterset
Hometown: Johnston
Date Experience: Appetizers at Buzzard Billy’s followed by an Iowa Wild hockey game, then drinks at CABCo.
Q: Plane, train or automobile? (Or bike?) Roller blades. Though if you want to visit cool places, airports are a necessary evil. You can tell a lot about a person based on how they handle flight cancellations/delays/re-routes/travel issues. Stay zen, it’s always worth it.
Q: What was the last movie you watched? “Dallas Buyers Club” … wow.
Q: You’re home alone for dinner, what do you eat? Stir fry, (but really wheat pretzel sticks dipped in chunky peanut butter and a beer).
Q: Why did you want to participate in the Des Moines Sweethearts Charity Date Auction? I didn’t. In fact it will probably be my most embarrassing moment. The whole concept makes me very nervous. Everyone keeps telling me, “It’s for charity. You’ll be great!” We’ll go with that.
Q: What do you do with the majority of your time? I work a lot, play soccer when I can and devour books … plus some laughs with my amazing friends and family.
