Kool & the Gang, The Charlie Daniels Band set April dates at Prairie Meadows

If I was trying to predict what two bands would be mentioned to me today in the same press release, Kool & the Gang and The Charlie Daniels Band would have been way down my list. Other than the fact that they were at their prime in the 70s, the two acts don’t have a lot in common.

Kool & the Gang is best known for hits like “Jungle Boogie,” “Ladies Night” and “Celebration.” They play April 18 at Prairie Meadows and tickets are $45-$65.

The Charlie Daniels Band is probably best known for “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” featuring impressive fiddle work by Daniels. They play at Prairie Meadows on April 19 and tickets are $35-$55.

Tickets to both concerts go on sale March 4 through Ticketmaster.

I’m including the video for the lesser known “Devil Comes Back to Georgia,” a sequel to “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” because Johnny Cash was an awesome choice for the all-star song.
