KISS, Def Leppard to rock Wells Fargo Arena

Published on March 17th, 2014 | by Joe Lawler

Last week KISS and Def Leppard announced that they would be touring together, and when the bands announced dates today, Des Moines was on the list. The classic rock acts will stop at Wells Fargo Arena on Aug. 20.

KISS is celebrating 40 years as a band this year and is also being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The group’s hits include “Rock And Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City,” “Calling Dr. Love” and “Beth.” But don’t expect to hear that last one at the show; Peter Criss isn’t with the band anymore. Kiss last played the area in 1997 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

Def Leppard is a British group known for the hits “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Armageddon It” and “Love Bites.” The group played at Wells Fargo Arena in 2012 on the “Rock of Ages” tour.

Ticket prices are still TBA, but tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through dahlstickets.com.
