Juice Charity Challenge: Drink, paint and send some kids to camp
Published on June 10th, 2014 | by Josh Hafner
Have some drinks, paint with your friends and help people in need — it doesn’t get much easier than that.
The first-ever Juice Charity Challenge is following challenge participant Karla Walsh and her team as she gears up for the 550 Relay, a nationwide series of marathons supporting people affected by cancer.
Walsh’s feet will hit the ground running for the event’s Iowa marathon from June 22 to the 25. That benefits the Livestrong Foundation and Camp Kesem, a nationwide camp for the children of parents with cancer.
After the marathon, though, Walsh and her team of Chris and Kaci Conetzky want to drink, paint and celebrate with you. All are invited to join for an evening of drinks and fine painting on June 26 at The Social Canvas (720 SE Alice’s Road in Waukee) at 6 p.m.
In a group setting, guests will sip drinks and learn to paint their own work that they can later take home. The cost is $35, with $10 going toward the Livestrong Foundation and Camp Kesem. Registration is available online.
