Joe’s weekly playlist March 19-25

I wanted to skip the obvious Reel Big Fish selection this week and instead went with the song “Beer,” which drummer Ryland Steen said was probably the band’s most popular song with fans.

Also included is Molly Ringwald’s take on “The Breakfast Club” classic “Don’t You (Forget About me)” and Jen Chapin doing her dad’s “Cat’s In The Cradle.” Rick Springfield and Bryan Adams are both doing acoustic shows at Hoyt Sherman Place. Springfield doesn’t have an acoustic album out currently, but Adams’ “Bare Bones” fit for a selection. I just went with Springfield’s best known song, forgive me.

Closing out the playlist is “Search and Destroy” by The Stooges, which lost drummer and co-founder Scott Asheton this week. That means Iggy Pop is the only surviving member of the band.
