Joe’s Feb. 26-March 4 playlist

Published on February 26th, 2014 | by Joe Lawler

I’m using the opening and closing songs of this week’s playlist to pay tribute to Harold Ramis, who passed away this week at the age of 69. It opens with “Ghostbusters,” which had his probably most notable role of Dr. Egon Spengler. It closes with “I’m Alright,” the theme to “Caddyshack,” which Ramis wrote and directed.

In between there’s Black Joe Lewis, who performs Thursday at Vaudeville Mews, Holy White Hounds, who play Foxholes CD release show Saturday at The Gas Lamp (Foxholes doesn’t have music on Spotify yet), an older song by Love Songs For Lonely Monsters, which releases its debut album Saturday at Vaudeville Mews, the biggest hit of Marshall Crenshaw, who plays Wooly’s on Saturday, a newer song by Parlours, the band kicking off the Lunch Unplugged series on Thursday and “Annum” off the Melvins EP “King Buzzo,” in honor of King Buzzo himself, Buzz Osbourne, playing an acoustic show Tuesday at Vaudeville Mews.
