Hiroshima, Arturo Sandoval, Dominick Farinacci headline jazz Music Under the Canopy

The third and final (for this year) Music Under the Canopy festival will be held Aug. 1-3 at Brenton Skating Plaza. This event will have a jazz focus. The headliners are Hiroshima (Aug. 1), Arturo Sandoval (Aug. 2) and Dominick Farinacci (Aug. 3).
The festival is being put on by the Downtown Community Alliance, along with Civic Music Association and Nationwide Insurance.
Hiroshima is an Asian-American jazz band that fuses traditional jazz with Japanese music. The group’s song “The Moon is a Window to Heaven” was featured in “Star Trek V.” Sandoval is a Cuban jazz trumpeter who was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom last year. Farinaccio is a 31-year-old big band leader and trumpeter and winner of the “Disney New Star Award.”
Tickets are $30 in advance for Aug. 1, $40 for Aug. 2 and $30 for Aug. 3 or $85 in advance for all three days and are available through midwestix.com.
