Gloom Balloon featured on Spin

Spin has a nice little article up this morning about PCC guitarist Patrick Tape Fleming’s Gloom Balloon, which is about to have a busy fall. The band has a show Saturday night at Vaudeville Mews with Eros and the Eschaton and Canby starting at 9:30 p.m.

Starting Oct. 24 Gloom Balloon kicks off a tour with Christopher the Conquered, hitting 11 states. A 7″, “She Was the One That Got Away,” comes out on Oct. 22 through Maximum Ames Records, and Gloom Balloon’s first full length, “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Disaster/Fix the Sunshine Pts. 1-7 (An Ode to Bill Doss),” comes out Dec. 5.

You can preorder the single and album on Maximum Ames Records. It comes with balloons and a bunch of other cool stuff.

You can hear “She Was The One That Got Away” on Spin. You can also hear Fleming’s other band, Poison Control Center, and Brass Bed covering some of Bill Doss’s Olivia Tremor Control songs on a Daytrotter session released last year.

The Poison Control Center will be playing a show Oct. 18 Dylan Sires & Neighbors and Twins at The Hub in Cedar Falls.
