If you’re looking to get full at lunch, it’s hard to top The Box Lunch option at Palmer’s Deli locations. For less than $10 you get a sandwich, small salad, bag of chips, pickle and a brownie or a cookie.
Over the lunch hour the lines at Palmer’s are long, but move quickly. I approached, ordering, going for a traditional sandwich with cheese, which runs $9.09. If you want the sandwich with no cheese it’s $8.39, and if you want one of the deli’s specialty sandwiches (club, Reuben and so on) they’re $9.39. I kept things simple, ordering a roast turkey on ciabatta with provolone, lettuce, tomatoes and sliced granny smith apples because I’m not presented with enough situations where I can put apples on a sandwich. Try it, it’s good.
For salads you can choose from the non-meat portion of the menu, with a lot of pasta and potato salad options available. I went with the deli salad (fresh veggies), but the fresh fruit option also looked good. For my dessert I went with a brownie, because Palmer’s brownies are huge and awesome.
If you don’t want to go quite that big, most of Palmer’s sandwiches range from $5.69-$6.59, giving you a large sandwich with none of the side dishes. You can also gt a half sandwich and a cup of soup for $7.99-$8.49. The number of options available to pick from are pretty astounding.
For a big, affordable lunch, Palmer’s is hard to beat. Breakfast might be the most important meal of the day, but lunch from Palmer’s is the most filling.
