Friend local web wizards at Des Moines’ Social Media Day

Some of Iowa’s top tweeters, pinners, posters and ‘grammers will gather June 30 for Social Media Day, an in-real-life celebration of how we connect online.

The event, which kicks off at 1 p.m. at the Des Moines Social Club, will host a bevy of Iowa experts offering thoughts on the social space followed by a discussion panel and ends with a 5 p.m. happy hour downstairs at Malo.

Names on-hand to speak at the event include Iowa Nice Guy Scott Siepker, Better Homes and Gardens digital manager Kaelin Zawilinski and Des Moines Register sports columnist Bryce Miller.

Registration is available online through Happy Medium. Tickets cost $35 until June 19 and prices will jump to $40 after that. Tickets include a Social Media Day shirt by Raygun, tickets for two drinks and special prize giveaways.
