Johnny Cash fans have a tough choice to make on Nov. 9.
As previously reported, Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, will perform a “The House of Cash” show that night at Wooly’s. But for the last 10 years Iowa musician Randy Burk has been putting on the annual Cash tribute concert. Unfortunately, this year the show also falls on Nov. 9 at Gas Lamp.
Headlining this year’s event is Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash. The San Diego band got permission from the man in black himself to use the name and recorded their CD, “Walk Home,” at Cash’s home in Tennessee. The follow up, “Distance Between,” featured a few songs produced by Carter Cash.
Also performing at the Cash tribute will be The El Dorados and Randy Burk and The Prisoners. Admission is $10.
The Carter Cash show starts at 7:30 p.m. Hardcore fans could probably catch Carter Cash’s show and still make it over to the Gas Lamp in time to catch Bastard Sons.
