One of the most talked about topics in reference to the State Fair has been the vandalism of the Iowa State Fair’s beloved butter cow.

Iowa State Fair Marketing Director Lori Chappell holds up one of the new “Butter Cow Security” T-shirts created as a fairgrounds fundraiser in the wake of this year’s attack on the butter cow by animal-rights activists.

The fair is capitalizing off of what happened with its “Butter Cow Security: Serve and Protect” T-shirts for sale through the Blue Ribbon Foundation as a fundraiser to help build and maintain the fairgrounds.

The shirts are $17 and can be found at any of the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s stands, which are by the State Fair Museum Complex, Grand Concourse, Cattle Barn and Agriculture Building.

After the fair, these t-shirts will be available on blueribbonfoundation.org.
