Wednesday: “The Voice” finalist Chris Mann performs at the Temple Theater in the Temple for Performing Arts, 1011 Locust St., at 7:30 p.m. On “The Voice” Mann covered songs like “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Viva la Vida” and sang a duet on “The Prayer” with Christina Aguilera. Mann released his debut studio album, “Roads,” last year and has had two PBS specials air in the last year. $37.50-$52.50 through Ticketmaster.
Friday: The Des Moines Jaycees host the return of Seniom Sed with a street party from 4 to 8 p.m. on Court Avenue between Third and Fourth streets. Seniom Sed (that’s Des Moines backwards) ran from 1979-2001 downtown, drawing thousands of attendees. The Chicago Dave Matthews tribute band Trippin’ Billies performs this week. Free. Vencent Van Zant
Saturday: Vencent Van Zant, aka Big Vinny, aka Vinny Hickerson of Trailer Choir, brings his solo show to 7 Flags Event Center, 2100 N.W. 100th St., Clive, at 7:30 p.m. With Trailer Choir, Hickerson’s hits include “Rockin’ the Beer Gut,” “What Would You Say” and “Rollin’ Through the Sunshine.” In 2011 Hickerson competed on “The Biggest Loser,” placing fourth and losing 184 pounds. Jared Blake of “The Voice” will also perform. $15 at redtrucktickets.com, $25 day of show.
J.D. Wilkes & the Dirt Daubers
Monday: Texas blues punk J.D. Wilkes and his band The Dirt Daubers play Vaudeville Mews, 212 Fourth St., at 8 p.m. Wilkes was a founding member of the Legendary Shack Shakers and has played harmonica with Merle Haggard, Mike Patton, Hank Williams III and others.
