At tonight’s YPC Annual Event, a changing of the young professional guard

The Young Professionals Connection, the Des Moines metro area’s most prominent group for career-minded 20 and 30somethings, will hold its Annual Event tonight. The gathering, which takes place this year on the 34th floor of Des Moines Embassy Club in downtown, will see the group present its yearly awards and recognitions as well as hold a vote for its 2014 board.

The YPC will present its Ashley Oakland Award for community service to LaVerne Greenfield and its Amy Jennings YP of the Year award to Danny Beyer. Greater Des Moines Partnership CEO Jay Byers will be a featured speaker.

The meeting will feature hor d’oeuvres and cocktails and will be sandwiched between two socials at the bars of the Embassy Club prior and the Downtown Marriott afterward, just across the street.

No RSVP, registration or cost is required to attend, though guests are encouraged to bring two to three non-perishable food items to be collected for Central Iowa Shelter and Services.
