After hours: Is Des Moines the next big Midwest city for entertainment?

The area surrounding the Wells Fargo Arena isn’t exactly the place to be for Des Moines’ young professionals to go let their hair down. Well, not yet at least.

With its vacant buildings and available space for parking, there is plenty of potential. Developers are  looking to turn this section of town into an entertainment hot spot, similar to its Midwest city counterparts. The only question now is how can this part of downtown Des Moines become more exciting like Kansas City’s Power and Light District or Milwaukee’s RiverWalk District?
