A musical marathon for Misfits fans

If you’re a fan of the punk rock group The Misfits, you should enjoy next week. No, the actual group isn’t coming but you will have three opportunities to hear Misfits songs live in Des Moines.

Misfits Karaoke Halloween Ball (Oct. 25) – Pick your favorite Misfits song and sing it with a live backing band of local musicians. Starts at 10 p.m. at Vaudeville Mews, 212 Fourth St. Free.

Horror Business (Oct. 25) – Local Misfits tribute act Horror Business puts on a Halloween show starting at 6:30 p.m. at Wooly’s, 504 E. Locust St. Dawn of Destruction, Parasite, Hours of Decay and Agrinex also perform. $10.

Grubby Ernie as The Misfits (Oct. 26) – The Ames band plays a reunion show at 9 p.m. Saturday at Gas Lamp, 1501 Grand Ave., but they’ll be performing all Misfits songs. As an added bonus, Tyborn Jig will open playing as The Ramones. $5.
