‘A Corny Christmas’ benefit concert at DG’s Tap House

“A Corny Christmas” is a proposed holiday album featuring Iowa artists.

Maximum Ames Records has agreed to release the album and the following acts have agreed to contribute holiday songs:

Mumford’s, Christopher The Conquered, North Of Grand, Little Ruckus, Dark Mirror, Mr Baber’s Neighbors, Poison Control Center, Gloom Balloon, Peace Love and Stuff, Risky Revival, Strong Like Bear, Nuclear Rodeo, Lipstick Homicide, Brother Trucker, Bob Tyler & The Reckless Heart, Trouble Lights, Echo 18.

If all goes as planned, the album will be out in just over a year, Nov. 1, 2014, to be exact. But there’s a catch: It’s expensive to make an album. All proceeds from the album will go to The Animal Rescue League, but the album has to get made for that to happen.

To help defray costs, a unique gathering of musical acts will perform a benefit concert Nov. 12 at DG’s Tap House. Dark Mirror, Strong Like Bear, Dylan Boyle and Lavonne McRoberts of Peace, Love & Stuff will perform at A Night of Iowa Musical Diversity and Eclecticism .

Admission is $5.
