Arin Eaton, 22, is the singer/guitarist for Karen Meat & the Players, performing at 9 p.m. Friday at the Vaudeville Mews PBR Bar and 10 p.m. Saturday at Vaudeville Mews, 212 Fourth St.

Q: Where did the name Karen Meat come from?

I’ve had several bands in the past, but I never really pursued them. I was out for lunch with Ladd Askland (Vaudeville Mews, music booker) and some friends and one of them asked when
I was going to change my band name again. Ladd suggested Arin Eaton and the Players and one of his friends thought he said “Karen Meat.”

Q: I saw that you recently played a show in Nashville?

I did. I was working at the Southern Girls Rock & Roll Camp and they asked me to play one of the showcases. Me and some Nashville Players played that. I have the real Players and the Nashville Players. It all depends on where I’m at.

Q: Saturday you’re playing Rex Manning Day Part Deux. Do you have a favorite ’90s act?

I don’t know, there are so many. I do sing a lot of ’90s songs at karaoke. Probably the Breeders or the Cardigans.
